A facelift without Botox and a wardrobe change makes for a better looking..................DeKalb Animal Coalition Benefit Place. This past week, Robin Driver and his crew had the outside of the building re-painted along with a new blue door. Soon there will be an awning added to the front, just in time for the summer heat to help cool the inside of the building. Thank you Robin Driver!
The Benefit Place, located at 110 W. Walnut St. here in town, is home to a huge variety of items, all of which have been donated by the generosity of you, the public, to help defray the costs of running the new animal shelter that is ready to be opened. The Board of Directors is currently reviewing the applications for Director of the shelter, a full time position and resumes for a part time employee. In the meantime, come to the Place (Fri. 10-4 and Sat. 10-2) and wander throughout the rooms for stuff that you never dreamed you needed: and believe me, there are lots of items that will meet your eye with purpose. Recently we received very comfortable outdoor patio furniture, large ceramic flower planters, dog clothes, end tables and chairs, keyboards and books that you gotta stock up on for winter reading! The clothes are many and the cheap prices for them are good enough for you to shop only at The Animal Benefit Place. Our wonderful volunteers have been tirelessly working to sort the clothing, the good, the bad, and the ugly, and are continuing to sort out sizes to make your shopping more convenient. We need the help of you, the public, to make the shelter successful. Anyone who would like to spend a few hours on either Friday or Saturday to help with the organizing, just come by during our open hours. Thanks!
