I lost a dear friend this week. Sarah Brown was kind, loving and always wore a smile. She loved her family, church and friends; but she loved her Savior, Jesus Christ, above all.
As tears rolled down my face, I had to smile as I imagined her in heaven. I can almost see her eyes alight with joy and adoration as she was welcomed home by her Lord. I imagine her running to Him without any breathing problems or pain.
Sarah has a very special part in this Cracked Pot ministry. It was through her encouragement that I began sharing my writing. If any seeds have been sown through these articles, it was because of Sarah. As long as she worked, she was my proof reader, my editor and my inspiration to carry on.
Sarah also loved the cross, for it was on the cross our ransom was paid. She believed in the blood of the cross and wasn’t afraid to share her faith. She wasn’t perfect, nor did she claim to be, but she was a Child of God.
Sarah had a special scripture that kept her going. "Be still, and know that I am God" – Psalm 46:10. I know if she could speak to us now it would be this: ‘Be still and know that I am not lost; I have only gone home. Be still and know I am waiting for you. Be still and know I love you all and hope to meet you here some glorious day that we may worship our Lord together. Be still and know God loves you, and so do I."
