We survived February without any bad winter weather.

Now it's time for blustery March winds with Easter on March 27. Some church services will be held the week before to celebrate Holy Week.

The Wesley Foundation at Tennessee will celebrate Family and Friends Weekend on

Saturday March 19 at 324 East 12th St. in Cookeville. Hours: 2 P.M.-7:30 P.M. There will be snacks, and outdoor games, a silent auction, dinner and 6 p.m., worship service. All Tech alumni and friends are invited.

The Bright Hill Methodist Church hosted a sumptuous luncheon last Sunday at First

Methodist Fellowship Bldg. A love offering was taken to help sponsor their ongoing mission of their Clothes Closet. They sponsor and work with several agencies in their endeavor. They include Headstart, Smithville Police Dept., Nashville Rescue Mission, the food pantry, Veteran's Administration, Ronald McDonald House and several others.

Get well wishes to Bob Pettis, Larry Tatum, Jerry Williams, Sarah Brown, Laird

Barnard, Betty Gunter, Ron Mollinet, Charlotte Bandy, Lora Webb and Karley Campbell.

Taxes, taxes-----Time to pay property taxes and then income taxes. Whew!

Doug and Char Ward spent several days visiting their friends, Noel and Pat Kirk and

Glyde and Lois Burdick from Minnesota who were vacationing there for the week.

All being Toastmaster friends, they had a relaxing visit and got to celebrate Doug's big 80th birthday with a big home-cooked dinner with delicious desserts. Happy birthday, Doug, a fine gentleman!

If anyone has a birthday in March, call me at 615-653-1737. Thanks.

Thought of the Week:Spend at least 20 minutes a day reading with your child. It will help him/her and you, too. Amen.
