We are so sad to give up another friend and community member. Garry Mullican gained his entrance into his heavenly home last week at the age of 73. He was a member of the Dry Creek Baptist Church and a wonderful neighbor. He and his dear wife, Betty, came to live on the Garry’s parent’s farm, the late Alvie and Fannie Mullican, a few years ago. We have enjoyed their visits from time to time.
Garry was a sweet boy growing up. He came as a young boy into our classroom (1949-50) at the Dry Creek School and continued his education at Liberty. He always had a smile to greet you with. He will be missed by his church family and friends. May God’s love and strength be with Betty, their sweet son Donald, and family during this sad time. Precious memories how they linger…..
We say “Congratulation to the class of 2016”. I know everyone works so hard in school these days. The rigorous curriculum and testing requires a lot of hard work from our children. Best wishes go out to them all for a wonderful future in higher education or the work force.
Congratulations to Mrs. Shirley Douglas of McMinnville who received her 40 year pin from the Delta Kappa Gamma Beta Theta Chapter. Your writer received a 45 year pin. It has been a pleasure to be an active member of this teacher’s organization and to serve along size Shirley. She is a joy to know and work with.
Get well wishes go out to Rosie Young who has been in the hospital. The cooler weather and pollen in the air has given people a lot of upper respiratory issues. We are hoping for more spring like weather in the weeks to come.
The farmers are getting ready for their first cutting of hay. We can hear the tractors going up the road by our farm. It is always a joy to see a field full of the large rolls of hay. Our prayers go out to the hard working farmers. We pray their equipment works well and they are successful in their 2016 crops.
Little Molly and Levi Reynolds, children of David and Monica Reynolds, celebrated their day school end of year program recently.
We send our sympathy out to Bro. Seber and family in the loss of his son David. He was the local doctor in Dowelltown for many years. Our prayers go out to the ones left behind.
Get well wishes go out to our neighbor Mary Joines and Russell Estes. May God see you through these days with peace and healing.
Events that are coming down at Dry Creek Baptist Church are the following: May 21st Outing for our School Children, May 29th Memorial Day Honoring all Military past and present, and June 2-4th Vacation Bible School. It is exciting to serve God with gladness.
