Sympathy is extended to the family of Kenneth Hawkins. He passed away on May 28, 2016. A Memorial Service was held on May 30, 2016 at Lebanon Cumberland Presbyterian Church. Survived by his wife, Elaine and son, Michael Hawkins. Several family members live here in the New Home community and DeKalb County, Clara Mae Hawkins, step-mother, and siblings, Queda Ferrell, Don Hawkins, Brenda Herman, Ronnie Hawkins and Beverly Ferrell and several nieces and nephews. Prayers for this family.

Don Hawkins has had knee surgery and is doing well at home. Get well wishes to him.

We received some much needed rain, I know this pleases the farmers. The hay cutting began about a week ago for all the allergy sufferers, I hope you find some relief.

Angie Meadows and Barbara and Brianna Meadows went shopping in Hermitage Saturday. They had a wonderful time and they also found a lot of great bargains.

Rebecca Ervin and Pam Page went to Mcminnville shopping on Wednesday.

We had a wonderful service at New Home Baptist Church this past Sunday. The VBS leaders are gearing up and preparing for VBS. I know everyone will have a great time.

It is also pool time and vacation time. Make sure to apply the proper sunscreen to your body and reapply as needed. I saw on television to throw away your last year products, sunscreen does have an expiration date. It was showing were a child had received third degree burn and now has skin scarring on his face. It does not take much time for a child to burn. You can still receive a tan with sunscreen. Please protect your skin from harmful rays.
