I think this may be our last cold spell? Not for sure, but I think this is what everyone calls stump weather. I know a lot of people woke up Sunday morning with some frost on their plants.
Mark Violet was checking his plants not only did they have frost but all his okra was completely gone. I don’t think that was the cold weather, maybe a small hungry critter.
We at the Smithville Review had a busy weekend. Angie and I with the Women’s Expo, which I must say turned out amazing. We could not have made this such a success without Stephanie TIner and Brianna Meadows helping us. Thanks to the many wonderful ladies who set up their booths and everyone who attended this event.
We must give a shout out to Chris Summers, who made our day at the complex go so smoothly. The staff at the complex are wonderful. Not to mention we have a beautiful complex here in DeKalb County.
Also at the Women’s Expo, a local Girl Scout Troop was serving breakfast and lunch. While greeting people as they came in the door, I was able to see the little Girl Scouts hard at work. I also saw children come in to use the game room, and saw a wedding party come in for a reception. Congratulations to Brandon & Mandee Dyer.
Graduation for the Class of 2016 at DCHS will be this coming Friday night, May 20. I know this is a special day for all the seniors. I also know this is a happy and sad day for the parents of these seniors. You are so proud of them and at the same time you can’t believe they are graduating. Congratulations to you all!
We had a wonderful service at New Home Baptist Church this past Sunday. I enjoyed the message from Bro. Bobby Hale as I always do. Bible school will be coming up at New Home Baptist Church on June 8, 9, and 10 starting at 6 p.m. to 8 p.m.
Sorry to hear that Robert and June Keith’s red Jeep was stolen while they were in Knoxville. I hope it is found.
I wish everyone a wonderful rest of the week.
