Welcome sweet springtime! The sunshine and warm air feels good. April will be over next week.
Then here comes May--tests for the school children. Then the end of the 2016 school year until fall.
Forgot to mention last week the presence of Chrisy Halsam, the governor’s wife, at Smithville Elementary School.
Also upcoming is the annual Storytelling Festival on May 7, 1:00-3:00 p.m. at the DeKalb County Community Center. Dot Tittsworth and Susan Hinton are the coordinators. The theme is "Hometown Heroes." Glad these gals are promoting the art of storytelling in our area.
Sympathy to the family of Bob Pettis. His funeral was last week. He was a very kind gentleman.

The Boy Scouts hosted a spaghetti lunch at First Methodist last Sunday as a fundraiser I did a noble thing last Saturday. I cleaned out my car! Amazing what all I found- a pair of winter gloves, popsicle sticks, grocery lists and lots of crumbs.
