Thank You, Rescue Squad

The biggest news in this calm and peaceful valley is the sudden awakening of sirens at three a. m. in the morning last weekend. The Rescue Squad and emergency vehicles ended up performing a rescue of a person in the Indian Grave Point Cave on Jimmy Womack’s farm behind our house. Apparently a group had been in the cave exploring when one of the group fell into a large hole and couldn’t make his way out. We finally saw the ambulance leaving after eight a. m. We are thankful for the ones that came out to help this group rescue their friend. We have witnessed many of these rescues over the years.

The cave is very large and dangerous. It has a lot various pools of water in it making it hard to keep your footing. We have always lived near the cave, so our children grew up enjoying the adventure it permitted. Our son, John L. Frazier, often brought friends home with him from Berry College to take through the cave. They always came out muddy, so we washed their clothes and dried them in front of our old oil heater. These "boys" now "men" came by the funeral home when Johnny lost his battle with cancer. They thanked me again for those early days and good memories. Judy Kimbrell and Brenda Womack always enjoyed their cave adventures in their younger years. We have several old pictures of Woodrow W. Frazier in the cave with groups enjoying it’s beauty and wonder. I am sure this summer we will see more people travel into the cave. We pray safety for all of them.

Last week Monica Reynolds dropped by for a visit during the week. My daughter, Lisa Cripps, cooked a delicious dinner last Sunday. It was one of my old favorites, chicken and rice with a dish of mixed vegetables. Kenny Edge and many other attended Sunday lunch. It was good to see Kenny.

My daughter, Peggy Thomas, called last Monday and reported her husband was doing some better. Keep them in your prayers.

We would like to say hello to four nice ladies who need our prayers: Georgie Hawker, Roberta Robinson, Cindy Fairchild, and Brenda Bates. May God’s love and mercy be with these ladies as they are healing. We continue to pray for Randy Hawker, Lela Young, Harper Rhody, Henry Walker, Tom and Georgie Cripps, and Karen Jacobs.

We enjoyed watching LSU and Auburn play basketball last Wednesday night. Many of the Frazier family from AL have attended Auburn University over the years, so we were glad they got the win. It was also Bruce Pearl’s 500th win!

Our faces communicate more messages than our words. Do we show the love of God in our faces? Let’s give a good effort to reflect the love of God in our expressions and hope our facial message is contagious. These things have I spoken unto you, that my joy might remain in you, and that your joy might be full. John 15:11 (KJV)
