Basketball Court Open at Greenbrook Park

Greenbrook Park just added yet another attraction for park goers, with the addition of a new basketball court. The court joins the playground and splashpad at the park, making the area even more desirable for local visitors.

The Smithville Mayor and Aldermen, city employees, the Chamber of Commerce, and others took part in a ribbon cutting last Wednesday afternoon at Greenbrook Park for the opening of a new basketball court. The court located at the end of the parking section on the west side of the park, across from NHC Healthcare Center.

According to Smithville Mayor Josh Miller, anyone can bring their basketball and play anytime the park is open during the day and lighting will be added soon.

“It has been suggested several times over the years that we do this,” Miller said. “City Administrator Hunter Hendrixson, Public Works Director Kevin Robinson and I along with the city council decided it was finally time to make that happen. It’s just another good addition to the park and I want to thank the Aldermen for their support in this effort.”
