A Liberty man suffered serious injuries in a one-vehicle crash Friday morning just before noon. THP Bobby Johnson said Charlie Blanchield, 68, was traveling east on Highway 70 when he lost control of his 2019 Dodge truck, causing him to run off the right side of the road striking a mailbox, a street sign and large business sign. Debris from the crash caused damage to a parked vehicle that was in the parking lot. Blanchfield had to be extricated by the DeKalb Volunteer First Responders Extrication Unit. He was taken by ambulance to Vanderbilt Hospital.
