Calling all nature lovers: We’re gauging interest in launching a DeKalb County network affiliate of the Sierra Club of Tennessee. Goals would be to protect and preserve our beautiful landscape as we create more opportunities for residents and visitors to experience our great outdoors. Free Meals for Seniors
Alexandria Activity Center is offering a free congregate meal to anyone age 60 and older at 11:00 AM Monday through Friday. Please call 615-529-2928 or text 931-259-6568 a day in advance to reserve your meal. We are located at 330 Edgewood St, Alexandria, TN 37012 (just past the fairgrounds on the right). The Center opens at 8:00AM. We offer free daily activities including card games, shooting pool, puzzles, arts & crafts, etc.

FCE Meetings
The FCE will be meeting the 2nd Tuesday of each month. The meeting will be held at 10 a.m. at the DeKalb County Complex in the Motlow Conference room. Everyone is invited to attend.

Are you raising a relative child or need housing assistance? For more information on assistance and support, please contact Melissa Allison at the Upper Cumberland Development District toll-free at 1-800-275-8233. A support group meeting will be held for relatives caring for relative children during the month. Please contact Melissa Allison at 931-476-4127. If you are interested in attending this meeting. Veterans Service Officer Ready To Assist
Are you a veteran in need of assistance? DeKalb County has a Veteran’s Service Officer ready to help you, not only with filing claims, but for conversations about your service. Officer Erica Degni is located on the first floor of the DeKalb County Courthouse and is ready to offer assistance. She is available for in-office visits each Tuesday and Thursday or can be reached by calling 615-597-3003. DeKalb County appreciates the service of all veterans and is proud to provide this
