Positive cases of COVID-19 are rapidly rising again, and DeKalb County is not excluded. On Sunday, DeKalb County Circuit Court Clerk Susan Martin announced that she and some of her staff members have tested positive. For this reason the Circuit Court Clerk’s Office will be closed until Wednesday, November 4.
“If someone was scheduled to be in court this week, it will be postponed until next week,” said Martin. “So if your court case is set for this Wednesday, October 28 or Thursday October 29 then you will need to come next week, November 4 or 5.
“I am sorry for any inconvenience and appreciate your patience and understanding during this time,” added Martin.
During the month of October alone, local positive cases more than doubled increasing from 48 reported in the Review in the October 7 issue to 89 as of press time Monday. In the second week of the month alone, the number of positive cases increased by a staggering 61. There are 17 reported deaths.
It is very important to continue with the preventative measures of social distancing, hand washing and wearing a face covering.
