DeKalb County High School held their science fair on March 18 and recognized some amazing students for their work.
The Grand Prize was awarded to Zoe Kuhn for her Crime Scene Chemistry display, while the first place winner in the Physical Science category went to Ella Pack and Paul Oliver for their Dissolving Plastic project. McKenna Miller and Laura Magness received second place for their Protect Your Hair display, while Callie Hall and Kahnh Phan got third place for their Floating Egg project.
In the Biological category, first place was awarded to Chase Vaughn for his Danger Zone project, while Karson Smallwood received second place for their Rhythm of the Heart display. The third place prize went to Ava Pack for her Video Game Heart Rate project.
Honorable Mentions were awarded to Skin Care vs Bacteria by Kyra Baker and Kayleigh Overstreet, Are Cats Ambidextrous by Tess Barton, The Butter Effect by Emily Anderson and Cali Agee, The Science Behind Making Perfume by Yoana Hernandez, Dying Flowers by Ally Fuller and Cadee Griffith, What Type of Milk Spoils Quicker by Madelyn Johnson, Lighting and Photography by Jack Gassaway, How Drinks Affect Heart Rate by Conner Close and Kaleb Spears, and Will Antibiotics Say No to Bacterial Growth by Ella Hendrixson.
