DeKalb Fall Fest next Saturday

The DeKalb Fall Fest and Tractor Show at the DeKalb County Fairgrounds is scheduled for next Saturday, Oct. 31. Pageant applications are being accepted through this Saturday, so get those in.

This year has seen everything turned upside down, with most county fairs being cancelled due to COVID-19. Though the DeKalb County Fair did not take place, the board members have put together a one-day event that is sure to be fun for the entire family.

Though there will not be carnival rides or events on the hill such as tractor pulls and ATV racing, there will be something for every. You will find a tractor show, a pumpkin decorating contest, corn hole tournament, a pet show, barn yard Olympics, trick-or-treating, costume contests and a full day of pageants.

This year there is not an entry fee for pageants. All that is required is your application turned in by this Saturday, Oct. 24, 2020. Competitions include babies from birth through senior citizen aged contests. Applications are available at local hair salons, banks and the Smithville Review office.
