A driver faces drunk driving charges after he told police he lost feeling in his hands causing him to lose control of his vehicle.

The driver, Samuel Dylan Giles, 23, was arrested after he ran through a fence off Jacobs Pillar Road. His excuse for the wreck seemed off to investigators.

“He said he had lost control of his vehicle because he had lost feeling in his hands,” the arrest report reads, the officer noting the reason for the alleged symptoms may have come from what he had to drink earlier. “While speaking with him the officer could smell an odor of alcohol coming from his person.”

During questioning, Giles admitted he had drank “three or four” beers. Giles did poorly on his field sobriety test and was arrested on the spot for DUI.
