Easterseals Tennessee celebrates
Easter Seals

September 11, 2022, acknowledging the work of Direct Support Professionals (DSP). DSP Recognition Week, as the week is called, is a time for Tennessee providers, like Easterseals TN, formerly Prospect, Inc., to recognize and celebrate the significant contributions of their DSPs. DSPs are an essential workforce that assists individuals living with disabilities or other special needs to live more independently and be active in their community.

During the week, through our local office in Lebanon, Easterseals Tennessee leadership showed their appreciation for the important contributions that DSPs make in implementing services such as personal assistance, in-home care, employment skills, daily living skills, and transportation.  These valuable services enhance the lives of members supported.

Easterseals understands that DSPs are irreplaceable in providing effective, long-term supports and services. As a profession, direct care work can be physically demanding and emotionally draining at times, but DSPs provide a crucial piece in the delivery of quality services for people with intellectual and developmental disabilities.

DSPs are heroes for the immeasurable support they provide. Easterseals is thankful for the dedication and effort put forth daily by the DSPs and how they enable members supported to live in their own homes, hold competitive jobs, maintain social lives, and accomplish the daily tasks that most take for granted.  This week has been set aside for recognition of DSPs, but at Easterseals, we are grateful year-round for the accomplishments and commitment of our DSPs.
