DeKalb County firefighters responded to yet another house fire last week, this one destroying a local home in the early morning hours.

According to County Fire Chief Donny Green, on Tuesday, November 21, at 2:06 a.m., E-911 dispatchers received a call reporting a house fire at the home of Chris Miller at 1482 Poss Road. The residents were at home at the time of the blaze, but were able to evacuate safely.

The Four Seasons Engine 57, Midway Engine 63, and Johnson’s Chapel Engine 68 responded to the scene, along with firefighters from other stations. Deputies with the DeKalb Sheriff’s Department and a unit with DeKalb EMS also responded to render assistance.

Upon arrival, authorities found the home fully engulfed in flames. Fire crews were able to protect several vehicles that were parked nearby, but the home and contents were a complete loss. The cause of the fire is currently undetermined.
