After many hours of torrential rain Friday and Saturday, creeks rose over their banks into roadways and yards creating a dangerous situation for many in the county.  Smithville-DeKalb County Rescue Squad was called to the Alexandria to Dismal Road Bridge Sunday afternoon after a motorist who was trying to drive through a flooded area. Bystanders who came upon the scene were able to assist the woman from her car to safety.
