Smithville Mayor Josh Miller, left, presented Alderman Donnie Crook, right, a plaque of appreciation to Crook’s last two years on the council during Thursday night’s special called meeting. That was Crook’s last meeting in office. Crook was appointed by Mayor Miller after Miller was elected mayor and his seat on the counsel had to be filled.
