The Global Repentance & Prayer, Sept. 26

Another event coming up is the Global Repentance and Prayer which will be held on Saturday, September 26, 2020 on the East side of the DeKalb Courthouse lawn at 10 a.m.  In case of rain this will be held at the Community Complex Auditorium. Several pastors will be there: Bobby Lee Hale, New Home Missionary Baptist Church, Graden Kirksey, Refuge, Dwayne Cornelius, New Life United Pentecostal, Nathan Thomason, Outreach Baptist Church, and Chad Ramsey, Smithville First Baptist.

Fall Revival, Sept. 27-30

Fall Revival will be held at New Hope Baptist Church, 2443 New Hope Rd., Alexandria on September 27 – 30. Sunday service will begin at 6 p.m. and Monday thru Wednesday at 7 p.m. Bro. Ricky Scruggs will be preaching with special song services nightly. Singers will be The Buckner Family, Right on Time, Trina Collins, and Three Parts Grace. Homecoming will be Sunday morning at 11 a.m.

DTC Annual Meeting, September 26

DTC Communications will host its annual meeting on Saturday, September 26, 2020, at the DeKalb County Fairgrounds in Alexandria. DTC members will see changes due to the COVID-19 pandemic. DTC will follow the recommendations from the Tennessee Department of Health and Centers for Disease Control in addressing social distancing and safety measures for the well-being of DTC members and employees. Directors will be elected in the Milton, Norene, and Woodbury exchanges. Incumbents Jim Vinson – Milton exchange, Terry McPeak – Norene exchange, and Brian Alexander – Woodbury exchange are running unopposed. Voting for directors will take place at the cooperative’s annual meeting on Saturday, September 26. Gates to the DeKalb County Fairgrounds in Alexandria will open at 8:45 a.m., with voting from 9 a.m. until 11 a.m. The business meeting will begin at 11 a.m. or once the last person in line at that time has voted. Only DTC members may vote, and each member must present proper photo identification. For a single membership, only that individual may vote. Either member of a joint membership may vote, but not both. In the case of a business membership, a business affidavit is required. The last day to make changes to your membership or to be eligible to vote in the 2020 election will be Thursday, September 17. DeKalb Retired Teachers Meeting, Oct. 1

The DeKalb Retired Teachers Association will be having a short meeting  with a snackon October 1, 2020 at 10 a.m. at Greenbrook Park. All retired school personnel are invited to attend.

The L.B.J. & C. Development Corporation Policy Council will hold their bi-monthly meeting Tuesday, October 6, 2020 beginning at 6 p.m. The meeting will be held at the L.B.J. & C. Development Corporation, 1150 Chocolate Drive, Cookeville, Tennessee.

Early voting for the Presidential Election begins October 14

Mondays 1 p.m. to 5 p.m., Tuesdays 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., Wednesdays 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., Thursdays 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. (except the last Thursday, Oct. 29 when the hours will be 1 p.m. to 6 p.m.), Fridays 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. (except the last Friday, October 23 when the hours will be 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.), Saturdays 9 a.m. to Noon.

Commodity Distribution, Oct. 22

The Upper Cumberland Human Resource Agency will hold a commodities distribution for DeKalb County on Thursday, October 22, 2020 from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. at the DeKalb County UCHRA office. Sign up will be available at the distribution site. The UCHRA does not discriminate on the basis of age, race, sex, color, national origin, religion, or disability in admission to, access to, or operations of its program, services or activities.
