Suzette Barnes, Behavior Interventionist at DeKalb Middle School in Smithville, is the March Swallows Scholars grant recipient presented by Swallows Insurance. She will use the funds to add to the school garden to teach life and social skills while offering a therapeutic outlet for her students.


The Swallows Scholars grant is open to any teacher in DeKalb, Overton or Putnam counties and may be accessed on the Swallows Insurance website at SwallowsInsurance.com. Look for the blue button in the right-hand corner for a fillable form that can be submitted online.
