Missing Man Found Safe
Wilson

The search for a missing Dowelltown man ended last Sunday with the man being found safe. According to DeKalb County Sheriff’s Department Chief Deputy Brian Williams on Saturday, a Silver Alert was issued for 55-year-old Glen Wilson.

Glen was last seen near Old Mill Hill Road in Dowelltown, wearing black pants with white stripes and a blue t-shirt with a superman logo on the front. Authorities reported that Wilson had a medical condition that may impair his ability to return safely without assistance.

Chief Deputy Williams said the search concentrated in an area near the Wilson family farm on the Liberty to Dismal Road, where the man’s cell phone had pinged. His mother had thought that Wilson had the cell phone on him when he went missing but, investigators later learned that Wilson had left his phone at their farm prior to his disappearance.

The DeKalb County Sheriff’s Department wishes to thank the Smithville-DeKalb County Rescue Squad and the White County Sheriff’s Department K-9 unit for their assistance during the search for Wilson.

Wilson was taken to the hospital to be checked out before being released to his family.
