DeKalb County High School announced last week that seniors Jordan Parker and Annabella Dakas have been named Mr. and Miss DCHS for 2024-25. Parker is the 17-year-old son of Kendall and Dallas Parker, while 17-year-old Dakas is the daughter of Mandy Fanning and John Dakas. Teachers at DCHS nominate students, girls and boys, for the honor. The whole school then votes on the nominees.

“This honor means a lot to me in that the students here think a lot of me,” Parker said. He is the Tigers’ starting quarterback, but also plays on the basketball team.

Parker said he is a member of the FBLA club, and that he wants to study to become a physical therapist after high school, and try out for college football. He said he hasn’t decided which college he plans to attend.

Dakas said “It’s really cool and then the whole school votes, so it was thrilling knowing they wanted me.”

She is a member of the FBLA, BETA, SGA, Science, and Spanish Clubs and the secretary of her class. She is also a captain for both the Tigers football and basketball cheerleading teams. She plans to further her education after high school at the University of Tennessee at Knoxville and become a pharmacist.
