The Town of Alexandria council held a special called meeting Thursday January 12, 2023, at 6 pm for the appointment of a  vice mayor following the recent death of Mayor Lloyd Dyer. The Vice Mayor will fill the role of Mayor until the next General Election. Current Alderman Rusty Bradshaw was nominated by other board members and it was unanimously passed. 

The board also voted for Justin Chapman to fill a vacancy as alderman. Both Bradshaw and Chapman will fulfill their positions until the next election in August 2024.

Mayor Bradshaw was previously appointed as alderman in July 2020 and reappointed in August 2022.
