Sheriff’s news, on August 4, 21-year-old Sarah Michelle Starnes of Hickman Road, Hickman, TN, was arrested for domestic assault and vandalism under $1,000. She is under a $3,500 bond and is set to appear in court on August 18.

Authorities allege that Starnes grabbed a male subject by the arms leaving visible marks. She also allegedly pushed the victim by the throat and chest, also leaving marks, and keeping him from entering a house. Starnes also allegedly picked up a rock and threw it a female subject, hitting a 2017 Jeep Wrangler, breaking the vehicle’s windshield.

The following day, 30-year-old Anthony Wayne Hale of Midway Road, Smithville, was charged with aggravated assault. He is under a $40,000 bond and due in court on August 18.

On August 3, a deputy responded to Dollar General Store on Short Mountain Highway for a call of a man holding a woman at gunpoint.

Upon arrival, the deputy made contact with a female who stated that she and Hale had been in a verbal argument and when she tried to exit the vehicle, he grabbed her by the arm, pulling her back into the vehicle. He then allegedly grabbed a firearm from the center console of the vehicle and put it to her throat.

The woman also stated that Hale grabbed her by the face and throat, choking her and blocking her airway so that she could not breath. The woman reportedly had marks on her arms and throat from the altercation.

On August 7, 29-year-old Denys Edgardo Herrera of Sparta Highway, Smithville, was arrested for evading arrest and driving under the influence first offense. He is under an $11,500 bond and is to appear in court on September 1.

A deputy was patrolling Sparta Highway when he made contact with a red Toyota Corolla driving on the wrong side of the road and almost hitting the deputy’s patrol car head on. The deputy tried to pull the vehicle over, but the driver sped up to over 80 miles per hour before eventually coming to a stop.

Upon making a traffic stop, the deputy made contact with Herrera, who reportedly had a strong odor of alcohol coming from his person, glossy eyes, and was unable to keep his balance. The man submitted to field sobriety tasks, but performed poorly.

That same day, 48-year-old Randall Keith Boehm, Jr., of Mauzay Street, McMinnville,  was charged with domestic assault. He is under a $7,500 bond and is due in court on September 1.

A deputy was dispatched to Quiet Lane for a verbal dispute. Upon arrival, the deputy made contact with two people who advised that their mother’s boyfriend, Boehm, who appeared to be highly intoxicated, had hit their sister in the face with an open hand. The female did have a red mark on the right side of her face.

On August 10, 21-year-old Caleb Ryan Warrick of Peyton Circle, Lebanon, was arrested for aggravated assault and violation of bond conditions. He is under a $15,000 bond and is set to appear in court on August 25.

On August 1, a deputy responded to Moore Taylor Road for a child custody issue involving a gun. Upon arrival, the deputy made contact with a male who advised that two male subjects had pulled into his driveway to help move a resident out. The male reported that he asked the male subjects to leave, at which point the passenger, Warrick, pulled a gun, cocked it, and pointed it at the male victim. The men then fled the scene.

After running Warrick’s information through NCIC, he was found to have bond conditions out of Wilson County barring him from possessing a gun or being near a female subject who was at the scene.

 On August 13, 43-year-old Scotty Wayne Knowles of Jacobs Pillar Road, Smithville, was arrested for possession of drug paraphernalia, methamphetamine manufacture sell deliver or possess, possession of a controlled substance heroin. He is under a $23,500 bond and is set to be in court on September 15.

Knowles was arrested on active warrants at Ragland Bottom Campgrounds. During the arrest, a baggy with a white crystal-like substance believed to be meth and a blue pill was found, as well as another baggy with a pink powdery substance believed to be fentanyl located in the area where he was sitting. Two spoons and two scales were also found.

The following day, 35-year-old Brittany Sara Ann Cossel of Trails End Lane, Nashville, was arrested for methamphetamine manufacture sell deliver or possess. She is under a $15,000 bond and she is due in court on September 8.

A deputy conducted a traffic stop on a silver Chevy Malibu, and during the stop the deputy asked the passenger, Cossel, if there were any drugs in the car. Cossel reportedly replied “Yes.”

Authorities say Cossel had a small amount of marijuana and ice in a small black pouch in her purse. After conducting a search of the purse, the deputy located 1.23 grams of meth and 1.49 grams of marijuana.

On August 15, 38-year-old Vilot Mae Tucker, who is homeless, was arrested for aggravated assault and a violation of an order of protection. She is under a $7,500 bond and she is due in court on September 8.

A deputy was dispatched to 5825 Antioch Road where the deputy made contact with a male subject who reported that Tucker had cut two tires on his truck. When the man told Tucker he was calling the police, the woman reportedly stated, “I’ll kill you,” with a knife in her hand. Tucker was under an order of protection barring her from contact with the male.
