Linda Parris was conferred the John Isabell Memorial Award Tuesday night as she was named Teacher of the Year for DeKalb County.
The honor was bestowed during the DeKalb County Teacher of the Year Banquet at First Baptist Church LTC. She was selected for the honor out of five teachers of the year named from each school. Parris was the winner from DeKalb High. Joining her in being honored as individual school teacher winners were Justin Nokes from the Middle School, Jessica Antoniak from West, Vicky Hawker from Smithville Elementary, and Cheryl Vandergriff from Northside. The individual winners were conferred bells from their principals during the event.
All the pictures from the event will be included in the countywide edition of the Review this coming Wednesday.
