Jordan Michael Thomas, 33, of Hendersonville was arrested on Feb. 1 and charged with first offense DUI. Sheriff Patrick Ray said a deputy conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle and Thomas was the driver. Thomas’ speech was slurred, he had a strong odor of alcohol and blood shot eyes. The deputy asked Thomas to get out of the car, and noticed he had to lean on the vehicle for support. He was given three field sobriety tasks which he was unable to perform. His bond was set at $1,500, and he is to appear in court May 6, 2021
Eric Lane Petty, 25, of Dowelltown was arrested two days in a row racking up several charges. On Feb. 3 he was arrested by a detective for theft of property and forgery after he took a $300 check out of mailbox on Sims Street in Liberty, signed and passed it at a Liberty business. On the following day, Feb. 4, he was arrested and charged with burglary, aggravated burglary and two counts of theft of property. Petty allegedly entered a trailer on Nashville Highway in Liberty on Jan. 27 and took a propane tank, propane tank hose and a 4,000 BTU heater totaling $199.99. He also, on the same day, allegedly entered a home on Sims Street in Liberty and took an Emerson TV, a weed eater and various items totaling $690.50. His total bond was set at $45,000, and he is to appear in court May 6
Jessica Leann Bain, 32, of Smithville was arrested on Feb. 6 and charged with first offense DUI and child abuse or neglect. A deputy witnessed a red Nissan Sentra traveling west near DeKalb Market run off the side of the highway. The deputy saw the vehicle leave its lane of travel several times. He initiated a stop and found Bain to be the driver. She had a strong odor of alcohol and slurred speech. She was given field sobriety tasks which she performed poorly. Inside the car was her three month old son, and she did not have a child restraint device putting the child in danger. Also inside the vehicle the deputy saw two opened mixed drinks. Her bond was set at $11,500, and she is to appear in court May 6, 2021.
Michael Anthony Beasley, 57, of Smithville was arrested for DUI on Feb. 6. A deputy witnessed a blue Nissan cross the white line multiple times on Nashville Highway. Once he pulled over, Beasley smelled of alcohol and admitted to have been drinking earlier in the night. He submitted and performed poorly on field sobriety tasks. A metal cup containing alcohol was also found in the cup holder inside the vehicle. His bond was set at $1,500, and he is set to appear in court May 6, 2021.
