A Liberty couple were doing more than whistling past the graveyard this past week when a deputy caught them pitching woo inside a local cemetery.

Shawn Collins Fitzgerald, 23, of Liberty was arrested for indecent exposure for his part in the nocturnal make out session. He was charged after a deputy responded to a graveyard off McMinnville Highway to investigate a suspicious person and found a vehicle parked therein. When the officer walked up the car he found Fitzgerald and Julie Marie Prater engaged in sexual contact. As a smoking gun, an empty condom wrapper was found nearby and Fitzergald’s zipper was down. When asked, the couple said they were “there to make out”. Prater was also charged for having outstanding warrants.
