Rep. Michael Hale named chair of TennCare Subcommittee

NASHVILLE, Tenn. – Tennessee House Speaker Cameron Sexton, R-Crossville, has appointed State Rep. Michael Hale, R-Smithville, chairman of the House TennCare Subcommittee for the 114th General Assembly. "Representative Hale is a dedicated leader with a deep understanding of healthcare policy," said Speaker Cameron Sexton. "As chairman of the TennCare Subcommittee, his leadership will be crucial in ensuring the program efficiently and effectively serves Tennesseans who rely on it for their healthcare needs." The seven-member subcommittee is responsible for legislative oversight of laws related to Tennessee’s Medicaid program, TennCare. "I am honored to serve as chairman of the TennCare Subcommittee and work to ensure that TennCare continues to meet the healthcare needs of those who depend on it," said Hale. "This is an important responsibility, and I look forward to collaborating with my colleagues to strengthen the program and make it more efficient for Tennesseans." First elected in 2022, Hale is serving his second term representing House District 40. In addition to chairing the TennCare Subcommittee, he will serve on the Commerce Committee, Banking and Consumer Affairs Subcommittee, Finance, Ways and Means Committee, and Insurance Committee during this legislative session.
