The DeKalb County Sheriff’s Department made several arrests over the past couple of weeks, including arrests for a stolen vehicle, drugs, and assaults.

On September 11, 47-year-old Bobby Wayne Pinnegar Jr. Hurricane Ridge Road was charged with driving on a revoked or suspended license. He is under a $3,500 and will appear in court on September 28.

A deputy conducted a traffic stop on a gray Chevy HHR due to the deputy having prior knowledge that Pinnegar had a suspended license.

On September 12, 71-year-old Lloyd Glenn Rigsby of Bethel Road, was arrested for assault on a first responder. He is under a $3,500 bond and will be in court on September 28.

A deputy responded to Bethel Road in regards to a male subject threatening suicide. Upon making contact with Rigsby, authorities say he appeared to be under the influence. He told authorities that he had multiple guns in his bedroom, and would use them to shoot law enforcement.

Authorities say that Rigsby then tried to move closer to his bedroom, but authorities kept the man from entering. As officials were waiting for EMS to arrive, Rigsby allegedly kicked the officer and hit him on the side of his face. He was then placed under arrest for assault.

On September 15, 28-year-old Nathan Wayne Stout of Hurricane Ridge, Smithville, was arrested for methamphetamine manufacture deliver sell or possess, evading arrest, resisting arrest, driving without a license. He is under a $62,000 total bond and he is due in court on October 5.

A deputy was patrolling Sparta Highway when he made contact with a black Toyota pickup. Upon running the license plate, the truck came back as stolen out of Rutherford County. The deputy conducted a traffic stop and made contact with Stout, who advised that he had no license and only an ID card.

As he was being placed in custody, Stout was order to place his hands behind his back. Stout then pulled away and took off running. After a short foot pursuit, he was apprehended. As he was being taken into the DeKalb County Jail, a correctional officer was conducting a search and found a small baggie in his pocket containing a white crystal-like substance believed to be meth, weighing .90 grams.

On September 17, 22-year-old Alberto Alexis Barcenas of McMinnville, was arrested for DUI. He is under a $3,500 bond and he will be in court on October 5.

A deputy was dispatched to Allen Ferry Road for a wreck without injuries. Upon arrival the deputy made contact with Barcenas, who reportedly had a strong odor of alcohol coming from his person. The deputy reported that the man’s eyes were glossy and that he could not keep his balance. Barcenas reportedly performed poorly on field sobriety tasks, and an open container was found inside the vehicle.

That same day, 50-year-old Dwayne Edward Reeder Jr. of Old Highway 53, was arrested for aggravated assault. He is under a $7,500 bond and he is set for court on October 5.

A deputy responded to Old Highway 53 for a reported domestic. Upon arrival, contact was made with the victim and Reeder. The victim reported that Reeder had tried to run her over with his vehicle causing her to be in fear of serious bodily injury. Reeder was placed in custody.

Michael David Verble, 67, of Woodlawn Avenue, Hot Springs, AK, was arrested after being indicted by the District Attorney’s Office for financial exploitation of the elderly  He is under a $10,000 bond.

Also on September 17, 44-year-old Rickey Allen Ashford of East Main Street, Liberty, was charged with driving on a revoked or suspended license. He is under a $5,000 and will appear in court on October 5

A deputy was travelling south on McMinnville Highway when he witnessed Ashford driving a blue Chevy S10. The deputy had prior knowledge that Ashford’s license had been suspended.

On September 19, 50-year-old Freddy Sylvester Stringer of Church Street, Liberty, was charged with driving on revoked or suspended license, and violation of the sex offender registry. He is under a $6,500 total bond and is due in court on October 5.

A deputy initiated a traffic stop on a Ford F-150 for a light law violation. Upon making contact with Stringer, and running his information through dispatch, his license came back as revoked for DUI in 2004. He openly admitted to living at a residence at The Loop Circle over the past few months. His address on the sex offender registry is listed as Church Street in Liberty.

On September 21, 41-year-old Willie Ray Murphy of West Bryant Street, Smithville, was charged with driving on a revoked or suspended drivers’ license. He is under a $6,000 bond and he is due in court on October 5.

A deputy conducted a traffic stop on a gold Lincoln car for having the wrong license tag on the vehicle. The tag came back as belonging to a Nissan Pathfinder. The deputy made contact with Murphy, who advised he did not have a valid license. It was confirmed through central dispatch that his license was revoked and that he had three prior convictions for driving on revoked.

That same day, 33-year-old Johnathan Darrel Lawson of Peyton Lane, Smithville, was arrested for evading arrest, which occurred on August 18. He is under a $6,500 bond and he is set to appear in court on October 5.

On August 18, deputies responded to Cookeville Highway on a report of a reckless driver on a black motorcycle. The deputy made contact with a motorcycle matching the description, heading towards Smithville on Cookeville Highway.

The deputy made a U-turn, at which time the motorcycle passed two vehicles in a no-passing zone and began traveling at a high rate of speed. The deputy lost contact with the motorcycle but did confirm that Lawson was the operator.

On September 23, 62-year-old Tammy Elizabeth Burton of Pea Ridge Road, Liberty, was charged with DUI. She is under a $2,000 bond and will be in court on October 12.

A deputy was flagged down by a concerned citizen about someone slumped over in the driver’s seat of a vehicle. The deputy then made contact with Burton who reportedly had constricted pupils, was unsteady on her feet and had a difficult time staying alert. She also reportedly admitted to taking Suboxone earlier in the day.

Burton agreed to take field sobriety task, but according to law enforcement performed poorly.

That same day, 38-year-old Shawn Collins Fitzgerald of Adamson Branch Road, Liberty, was arrested for domestic assault and evading arrest. He is due in court on October 12, and is under a $9,500 total bond.

Authorities say that Fitzgerald put the victim in fear of bodily injury by breaking a window out of a vehicle she was in and attempting to pull the woman out by her sweatshirt. Officials say that Fitzgerald attempted to evade arrest by jumping out of a window of a residence after he was advised he was under arrest.
