A Smithville woman has been charged with child abuse or neglect for exposing her 17 month old son to methamphetamine.

Amanda Nicole Wilson, 34, of Bell Street Apartments is under a $10,000 bond and she is scheduled for an appearance in General Sessions Court December 10.

According to Smithville Police Detective Brandon Donnell, a Department of Children Services employee reported last month that she got a referral on Wilson stating that her child was being exposed to drugs. DCS removed the child from the home and got a hair follicle drug test done. The child tested positive for methamphetamine.
