Jason Duane Madewell, 38, of Smithville was arrested March 7, 2023 and charged with meth/mfg/del/sell/poss and public intoxication. His bond was set at $11,500, and he is to appear in court March 23, 2023

A sheriff’s department deputy was patrolling when he noticed a man acting strangely at Mapco. The man, Madewell, was unsteady on his feet, unable to focus on conversation, sweating profusely and seemingly under the influence of a controlled substance. When the deputy asked if he could search his person, Madewell admitted that he had meth in his pocket. He also said he had consumed some three hours earlier. When the meth in his pocket was weighed, it weighed 16.1 grams container weight.

Toby Lynn Young, 43, of Smithville was arrested March 8, 2023 for theft of property over $10,000. His bond was set at $30,000, and he is to appear in court March 23, 2023.

On March 7, Young went to a residence on Midway Road and allegedly took a 2002 Harley Davidson Soft tail motorcycle valued at $15,000. Young also allegedly took a Troy built riding lawnmower valued at $2,500. He admitted to taking the property.

Steven Lemonte Waller, 24, of Smithville was arrested March 9, 2023 arrested and charged with two counts of aggravated assault.

A deputy responded to Shady Drive for a shots fired call. A male and a female both told the deputy that after a verbal altercation, Waller had fired a round in each of their direction from a rifle.
