Jalen Grooms, 23, was charged with DUI after a deputy responded to Edgewood Street in Alexandria to look into a report of a suspicious vehicle parked partially in the road. He found Grooms unconscious in the driver’s seat. He seemed confused, smelled of alcohol and failed his sobriety test.

Jason James McKeon, 35, of McMinnville was charged with possession of meth. He was a passenger in a car pulled over on Broad Street. The deputy found all passengers in the car were on probation, prompting a search of the passengers. Scales and drugs were found in the area where McKeon had been sitting. A needle with meth inside it was also found.

Margaret Rebecca Buttry, 36, was arrested for driving on a revoked license, third-offense. She was charged after being stopped by a deputy on West Broad without rear lights. A driver license check revealed she had been revoked for DUI and had subsequently been charged with driving on a revoked license.

Kimberly Ann Spivey, 33, of Sparta was arrested for DUI. She was arrested on Sparta Highway after she failed to move over on the four-lane highway as deputies were on a traffic stop, causing them to jump out of her path. She admitted to drinking beer and tequila and did poorly on her field sobriety test. She was also cited for violation of the move over law.

Beito Castorena, 33, was arrested for criminal impersonation and bringing contraband into a penal institution. He was charged after he identified himself as Ben Garcia to a deputy who was answering an unwanted visitor call. The officer learned the suspect’s real name and stopped him. He was later charged with smuggling drugs into the jail. He was tagged with the count when marijuana was found in his pocket.

Crystal May Smith, 23, was cited for simple possession of drugs. She was pulled over by a deputy to arrest a wanted person who was in the vehicle. The deputy found a small amount of meth in the driver side of the car after the officer took the wanted person into custody.
