Elijah Malik Walton, 24, of Murfreesboro was arrested on September 4, for aggravated assault and reckless endangerment. Police responded to Bizee Mart in reference to a shooting that had occurred. Police made contact with the victim and were informed that Walton had shot at her. During the investigation it was discovered that Walton and the victim had gotten into an argument in Murfreesboro and she left. Later, Walton located the victim getting gas at Bizee Mart and an altercation occurred with him striking the victim in the face. Once she got into her vehicle and started to drive away, Walton pulled a gun and shot at her, putting the people at the convenience store in harm’s way also. Warrants were taken for Walton and he was taken into custody a while later.
Joel Cabrera Castillo, 29, of Snow Street was arrested on September 1, for domestic assault. Police responded to a domestic where they discovered Castillo had caused injury to the victim by striking her in the left arm with a bottle and his hand leaving a scratch and redness to her arm.
Miranda Nicole Mosley, 30, of Old Snow Hill Road was arrested on September 2, for violation of order of protection. Mosley violated the order by going into Wal-Mart when the petitioner was inside shopping. She was following and trying to talk to him and others.
Rodney C Tatrow, 57, of S. College Street was arrested on September 6, for violation of probation on active warrants out of Grainger County.
Ricky Allen Ashford, II, 44, of Liberty was cited on September 6, for theft. Police responded to Wal-Mart due to Ashford walking out of the store with a buggy of merchandise that he had not paid for.
Later in the afternoon, Police responded to Dollar General Store in reference to Ashford being on the property to which he had been trespassed on July 9, 2023, along with 22-year-old Jada Beth Butcher. Both were charged with criminal trespass.
Officers were dispatched to the ER, on September 14, in reference to possible (illegal) drugs. Officers did make contact with Brian Joseph Christensen, 42, of Short Mountain Road and did seize approximately .6 grams of a crystal-like substance believed to methamphetamine from his room.
Sarah Triana Harrison, 28, of Gainesboro was arrested on September 14, for kidnapping. On September 13, police were dispatched to 318 W. Broad Street about a missing child. After speaking with the father of the missing seven-year-old boy, it was discovered the father had fallen asleep in his chair while his son was playing in the house. When he woke, he noticed the front door open and his son missing. Video footage from across the road, showed a female was at the door of the house. When the door opened, the child appeared from the residence and ran to the female, in which she grabbed him and put him in a white car and left the parking lot, heading west on W. Broad St. The female was identified as the boy’s mother, Sarah Harrison who does not have any custody of the child. An endangered child alert was issued and after midnight on September 14, 2023, Harrison was taken into custody in Byrdstown and returned to the Smithville Police Department where she was arrested on the warrant for kidnapping.
On September 15, Matthew Lewis Grant, 38, of Woodbury was arrested for public intoxication. Officers were dispatched to Wal-Mart to do a welfare check on a male subject in the store. Once contact was made with the male subject, identified as Grant, he was walking with a buggy, running into aisles and products in the store. Grant had slurred speech and kept falling asleep while the officer was talking to him. Upon investigation, it was discovered that Grant had taken some sleeping pills but couldn’t tell the officer what or how much. For his safety, he was taken into custody.
On September 16, 39-year-old Enique M Alamaraz, 39, of Highland Avenue was arrested for DUI and driving while license suspended. Police conducted a traffic stop on W. Broad Street for failure to maintain lane of travel. Upon contact with the vehicle. The officer identified the driver as Alamaraz and while speaking with him, the officer could smell a strong odor of alcohol coming from his person, along with red water and bloodshot eyes. Upon investigation, it was discovered that Alamaraz had drank 5 Budweisers at a friend’s house prior to driving. Alamaraz was asked and consented to sobriety tasks, to which he performed poorly. An NCIC check with Central Dispatch revealed his license to be suspended out of DeKalb County in 2021
Chad Louis Kurtz, 51, of Florida was arrested on September 18, 2023 for being a fugitive from justice. Police made contact with Kurtz on Dearman Street and a NCIC check with Central Dispatched revealed he is wanted out of Desto County Florida for violation of probation, resisting arrest and possession of a controlled substance. Florida did send a confirmation of extradition to pick Kurtz up from Tennessee, at which time, he was arrested and taken to the jail for booking.
On September 29, David Allen Cabrera, 49, of Smith Road was arrested for prescription fraud x2, simple possession/casual exchange, possession of drug paraphernalia and cited for light law and financial responsibility. Cabrera was stopped for a traffic violation of having a headlight out at which time he couldn’t provide proof of insurance. While the officer was speaking with Cabrera, he seemed a little nervous and refused a search of the vehicle. Officer Deffendoll with Alexandria Police Department was called to the scene with K-9 Manci, which performed a free air sniff and did alert on the vehicle. A search was performed which did produce .3 grams of methamphetamine, 18 needles, two pipes, a set of scales with clear crystal residue and 105 Buspirone pills and seven Ciproflxacn pills that were not prescribed to him.
