The Smithville Family and Community Education (FCE) group finished up a quilt which will be donated to "Live and Let Live" shelter. A plant give-away and hand-outs were passed out concerning planting small, bare-root seedlings, safe produce handling at home, and heart health benefits of dark chocolate. A discussion was held on the benefits of drip irrigation in this hot, summer heat. The Smithville FCE group meets every second Tuesday at 10 a.m. at the Community Complex UT Extension room.
