Smithville Police make several arrests during April

Two men have been charged with sale of vape products to a minor, reports Smithville Police Chief Mark Collins. Charged are Hasan Ellahi and Ranjanben Dabhi.

After receiving complaints of minors purchasing vape products at locations in Smithville, an investigation was conducted on April 2. The Smithville Police Department detectives used a confidential source, a 16-year-old female.

The female attempted to purchase vape products at seven establishments in Smithville. The confidential source was unable to make a purchase at five of the businesses; however, two establishments did sell to her.

The confidential source entered King Vape on April 2, 2024 at approximately 10:48 a.m. and did purchase a vape product from the clerk who was later identified at Hassan Ellahi.

The source entered Jewels Market on the same day at 11:50 a.m. and did purchase a vape product from the clerk who was later identified as Ranjanben Dabhi.

Ellahi and Dahbi were cited for the infraction and were to appear in court April 18, 2024.

Stephanie Mooneyham, age 32, was arrested on April 3, 2024 and charged with burglary. An officer responded to Highland Street in regards to someone trying to break into a car. After reviewing camera footage, Mooneyham was determined to be the suspect. She was located and admitted to opening the door of the vehicle, because she was hot and wanted to take if for a ride. Her bond was set at $3,500, and she was to appear in court April 18, 2024.

Before ever appearing in court, Mooneyham was charged with theft of property and driving on suspended license on April 14, 2024. An officer responded to College Street in reference to a stolen vehicle. An officer responded to call of a stolen vehicle. Through preliminary investigations, officers quickly developed that Mooneyham was the suspect. During the investigation, DeKalb County Sheriff Department deputies located the stolen vehicle at a residence in the county and made contact with Mooneyham. She was taken into custody, and her bond was set at $35,000. She is to appear in court May 2, 2024 on these charges.

Dustin Sissom, age 33, was arrested for domestic assault on April 6, 2024. Officers responded to a 911 call in reference to domestic violence in progress. Upon arrival, officers made contact with Dustin Sisson and his wife. There was physical evidence of a domestic assault and officers determined he was the aggressor. His bond was set at $3,000, and he was to appear in court April 18, 2024.

Darlene Duncan, age 75, was cited for theft of merchandise and simple possession. Chief Collins states that on April 7, 2024, officers responded to call at Walmart of a female shop lifter. An officer witnessed Darlene Duncan conceal an item in her purse. A search of her person revealed more concealed merchandise as well as 10 Diazepam in an unmarked container. Duncan was unable to provide a prescription for the pills. Her court date is May 23, 2024.

Nathan Wilbert, age 43, was arrested for disorderly conduct and resisting arrest on April 7, 2024. Officers responded to a call of a man acting erratically and holding a knife on Bright Street. Upon arrival, officers made contact with Wilbert holding a knife and yelling. Officers gave him serval verbal commands to drop the knife. He did not comply and began walking toward Sonic. Officers followed him continuing to give him verbal commands to drop the knife, which he finally did. He was arrested. Bond was set at $2,500, and he was to appear in court April 18, 2024.

Peter Bohannon, age 58, was arrested for DUI and meth manufacture/sale/delivery/possess on April 10, 2024. An officer conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle for failure to maintain its lane of travel. Upon speaking to the driver, Bohannon, the officer suspected impairment. He performed poorly on sobriety task. A package of crystal like substance was found on Bohannon during a search. His bond was set at $20,000, and he was to appear in court April 25, 2024.

Michael Colwell, age 40, was arrested on April 12, 204 and charge with DUI. He was also cited for driving on roadway lane for traffic, financial responsibility and violation of implied consent. And officer responded to a vehicle driving very slowly in the center of the road. After conducting a traffic stop and speaking to the driver, Colwell, the officer detected slurred speech and a strong odor of alcohol. Colwell performed poorly on all field sobriety tasks and admitted to consuming several alcoholic beverages. His bond was set at $6,500, and he was to appear in court April 25, 2024.

Lisa Karen Coffee, age 61, was arrested and charged with domestic violence and vandalism on April 14, 2024. Police were called to a home on Andrews Street for a domestic disturbance between Coffee and male. The male said Coffee had thrown a stick at him and broken a back window at the address. Her bond was set at $2,000, and she is to appear in court May 2, 2024.

Cody Cripps, age 38, was arrested for aggravated assault. Officer responded to a 911 call, on April 15, 2024, referencing a domestic violence situation with a male armed with a knife. Once officers arrived, the victim had physical evidence of an assault involving a weapon. Cripps was placed into custody. His bond was set at $7,500, and he is to appear in court May 9, 2024.

Sergio Perez-Soto, age 21, was arrested on April 14, 2024 for DUI. While on patrol, an officer conducted a traffic stop for a vehicle which failed to maintain its lane of travel. Upon speaking with the driver, the officer detected a strong odor of alcohol on Perez-Soto. He did poorly on sobriety task, and admitted to drinking several alcoholic beverages. Bond was set at $2,000, and he is to appear in court April 25, 2024.

Maria Flores, age 39, was arrested on April 19, 2024 and charge with DI. After receiving a call of a possible drunk driver, police made contact and saw the car cross the center line multiple times. A traffic stop was initiated, and Flores, the driver had a strong odor of alcohol, performed poorly on field sobriety task and was unsteady on her feet. Her bond was set at $3,500, and she is to appear in court May 2, 2024.

Branndon Coery Herndon, age 36, was arrested on April 19, 2024 and charged with domestic assault. Police were called to a residence on Forrest Avenue to a possible assault. When they arrived, police found both parties still on the scene and wounds on the victim along with witness statements. His bond was set at $3,500, and he is to appear in court May 9, 2024.

Galdino Loazano, age 51, was arrested for DUI on April 20, 2024. Police responded to a call of a reckless driver on Hwy. 70. Upon contact with the vehicle and observing the vehicle being driven recklessly, a traffic stop was initiated. Lozano had red, watery eyes, and a strong odor of alcohol. He did admit to having drank a 12 pack of beer. He performed poorly on field sobriety task. His bond was set at $3,500, and he is to appear May 29, 2024.

 

Timothy Louis Mace, age 51, was cited for simple possession and improper display of tags on April 20, 2024. Police stopped a vehicle for improper display of tags. Upon speaking to Mace, a strong odor of marijuana was coming from his person. He did admit to having smoked some earlier. After a search, two small baggies of clear crystal like substance, believe to be meth, was found weighing .93 grams. He is to appear in court May 23, 2024
