The Caney Fork Chapter Daughters of the American Revolution recently announced the selection of Miss Alissa Summers as the DAR Good Citizen for the Class of 2025.

Each year DAR Chapters across the United States sponsor this contest for High School Seniors.  One senior student is selected from each High School as the individual who exhibits the qualities of Dependability, Service, Leadership and Patriotism.  These are the same characteristics that the American Revolutionary War Patriots demonstrated in the fight for our independence 250 years ago.

Miss Summers is the daughter of Crystal Searing.  During her career at DeKalb County High School, she was active in Student Government and the Science and Literature Clubs.  After graduation, Alissa plans to attend Tennessee Technological University and major in Elementary Education to obtain a K-8 Teaching Certificate.  Congratulations Alissa!
