COOKEVILLE, Tenn. - High school students and lifelong learners looking for a nationally ranked university experience can now apply to Tennessee Tech University for the fall 2025 semester. The university announced that applications are open and prospective students are encouraged to apply early to get a head start on their admissions checklist.

“As Tennessee Tech looks forward to welcoming another large freshman class this fall, we’re already making plans for fall 2025. We want students to know they belong right here in Tennessee’s College Town,” said Karen Lykins, vice president for enrollment and communication at Tech. “Applying for admission now puts students in the best possible position to qualify for scholarships and get a head start on exploring all that life as a Golden Eagle has to offer.”

The start of fall 2025 applications comes as Tech is experiencing a renaissance, marked by a flurry of new construction, including its state-of-the-art Ashraf Islam Engineering Building set to open in October, the launch of its nuclear engineering degree program – only the second in the state – and the university’s largest annual externally funded research total in its 109-year history.

As students and parents weigh their higher education options, Tech also continues to make college affordable. Roughly half of Tech students graduate debt-free, thanks in part to the university’s Presidential Scholars program, which offers guaranteed scholarships ranging in value from $3,000 to $10,000 per year to students meeting minimum grade point average and standardized test score requirements. Students must apply for admission by Dec. 15 for Presidential Scholars eligibility.

“Tennessee Tech gives students the total package: world-class academic programs in more than 200 fields of study, affordability that helps students stay ahead and a vibrant campus life in a safe and affordable college town,” said Frank Tittle, director of admissions at Tech. “We can’t wait to welcome our newest Golden Eagles in 2025 and show them what this community is all about.”

Prospective students can also schedule a VIP campus visit with a Tech Trailblazer – current students who provide personalized, one-on-one tours to guests and their families – at www.tntech.edu/visit.

Tech is ranked as a “Best National University” by U.S. News & World Report and offers more than 200 programs of study. Tech grads leave with the least debt of all public universities in the state. In fact, based on total cost and alumni earnings, Tech provides students with the highest return on investment for any public university in Tennessee, according to PayScale.
