Two people were recognized for their service to the Smithville Airport last week, with plaques being presented during a meeting of the Mayor and Board of Aldermen.
Mayor Miller addressed the board saying, “These men have done an outstanding job while we’ve been down an airport manager. Anytime someone volunteers a lot of their time, I think that speaks great volumes. I wanted to bring them in tonight before the council, and recognize them.”
Shawn Puckett presented the awards to Josh Williams and Roth Terrell, who were recognized for their sincere and loyal dedication to the Smithville Airport. The plaques read, “Rejuvenated and rekindled are we for knowing and working with you. Thank you for everything you have done.”
“I am on the Airport Committee, but I have no technical expertise,” Puckett said. “The things that you have done over there, we really appreciate it.”
“I don’t feel it’s a volunteer effort,” said Williams. “I feel it’s just a passion.”
