The Frazier families had a big Fourth of July celebration and celebrated the 96th birthday of their mother and grandmother, Louise Frazier, at the new country home of Henry Buchanon and Natalie Frazier in the Vandagriff Hollow.
Many family members braved the flooding conditions of the Dry Creek stream and Smith Fork to attend this event.
After singing happy birthday to the honoree, Jimmy Kimbrell gave the blessing and the guests formed two lines beside the long antique table to fill their plates with the delicious food prepared by the Frazier families. Todd Nuckles was the “Head Chef” of the meat. Everyone brought a “favorite dish.”
The birthday lady brought her well-liked “overnight Cole Slaw.” So there was plenty of country cooking for the 41 guests who attended. Michele Hendrix Kent made her famous strawberry ice cream and received many “Wows” from the group.
Picture-taking, games and family fellowship were enjoyed.
Those present were Todd and Gail Frazier, Sam, Christopher and William of Florence, Ala., Bruno and Geri Frazier, Andrew and Ryan of Georgia, Michele Kent, Elizabeth and Olivia Miller and Brandon Kent of Lascassas, David and Monica Reynolds and Levi of Alexandria, Jimmy and Judy Kimbrell of Old Mill Hill. Dry Creek community was saddened to hear of the death of Mrs. Delores Reynolds of Alexandria. She is the grandmother of David Reynolds.
We have seen and talked to this dear lady who attended several events at Dry Creek Baptist Fellowship Hall.
She was always happy and glad to meet people. She has gone to her eternal home, where all is peaceful and there is no pain, but joy and contentment.
May the Reynolds family look to God for his love, mercy and comfort in the loss of this lady whom they loved.
Dry Creek Baptist Church and community extends sincere sympathy to the Reynolds family.
Her funeral was at Anderson’s Funeral Home in Alexandria.
