Mrs. Garry Mullican entertained at her home in Possum Hollow with a birthday dinner, honoring Mr. Donald Mullican and his son, Mr. Matthew Mullican, of Lebanon on Saturday evening.
The Mullican Family enjoyed a home-cooked meal, fellowship, and picture-taking. Those present were Mr. and Mrs. Donald Mullican and sons, Jonathan and Matthew of Lebanon and Mr. Garry Mullican.
Dry Creek Baptist Church Family and friends in the Dry Creek Valley send special get well wishes to a dear lady in DeKalb Community Hospital, Mrs. Mary Snow. We hope that she will be much better today. Our prayers, love and best wishes go to the Snow Family.
Mr. and Mrs. Wayne Bush of Smithville were the Sunday dinner guests at the home of her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Roscoe Frazier.
Our prayer list for those having surgery this week are, Mr. Danny Agee, he will be at Summit Hospital, Donelson; and Bro. Donald Owens is having ankle surgery at University Hospital in Lebanon, Tuesday.
Mrs. Audrey Owens saw her lung specialist on Monday. She is ill with pneumonia, but remains at her home in Lebanon.
Our prayers continue to be with these good people, who have special needs.
It was good to talk to Ivadell Randolph this week. She is recovering from knee surgery and is doing well. She has a birthday this month, so we say “Happy Birthday” to her.
Others having April birthdays include a friend and nice lady of Smithville, who celebrates on April 1, Vena Fuston; our great-granddaughter, Elizabeth Miller of Lascasses, will be 11 years old on April 12; Vicky Corley, April 2; Elaine Hodges, April 3; Fred VanHook, Jo Ann Hale and Estelle Ferrell celebrate on April 5; Raymond Davis, April 7; Robert Walker, April 14; Sarah Walker, April 17; and Riley Tramel has a birthday on April 27.
Congratulations and happy birthday to all who have birthdays in April.
Mrs. Wanda Cripps, Mt. Juliet, is home after being ill in Summit Hospital. She visited in the home of Mrs. Jim Cripps and family on Sunday. Other visitors were Mr. and Mrs. Jerald Cripps of Dismal Rd. and Mr. and Mrs. Jordan Cripps.
Mr. Ricky Hendrix had surgery  last Thursday in Cookeville. He was home-bound over the weekend. Glad to report that he was able to be in his teaching position at DeKalb West School on Monday. Our love and best wishes go to Ricky.
Mrs. Michele Kent, Nurse Practitioner, of Lascasses was with her daddy for his surgery and recovery.
Mrs. Paulett Robinson and Mrs. Georgia Hawker visited Bro. and Mrs. Donald Owens at their home in Lebanon, Wednesday. It was Bro. Donald’s birthday, March 30. He celebrated his 78 birthday.
Due to surgery, he was unable to come to Dry Creek Baptist for Wednesday Prayer Service, so the ladies took him his present and birthday cake from the church. Our prayers, love, and best wishes go to Bro. Donald and Mrs. Audrey.
Glad to report that Mrs. Gail Cripps is out of the hospital and is now recovering from flu and pneumonia at her home. May God bless and watch over Gail as she recovers.
Mrs. Judy Kimbrell visited Mr. and Mrs. David Reynolds at their home in Alexandria, Sunday afternoon.
We are really enjoying March Madness College Basketball, both men and women. Sorry, Tenn. Vols women’s team lost.
Mrs. Lisa Cripps, Dismal Rd., Liberty visited her mother, Mrs. Louise Frazier, Tuesday evening.
Dry Creek Community extends sincere sympathy to the family of Mr. Jack Turner of Dowelltown, in it’s hour of sorrow.
He was a retired teacher who taught many years at DeKalb West School. May God bless and comfort this family in the loss of its loved one.
Dry Creek Baptist Church is preparing for the special Easter musical, “The Love of God.”
Everyone is welcome at Dry Creek Baptist Church, which has been a “Spiritual Lighthouse” in the beautiful Dry Creek Valley for over 122 years.
