Two of our young men natives of our beautiful Dry Creek valley are retiring from County positions. We as citizens just want to say "Thank You" to Bobby Joines who has served 12 years as a commissioner of the second district, and we might add he did a good job and performed a great service. Most of our concerned citizens know that Bobby voted "no" on those important issues that would affect not only his community but the entire county in the wrong direction, and which would be harmful to our young people who are leaders of tomorrow. Thank you Bobby for these "no" votes, and then also thank you for your "yes" votes which were issues for the good of our county. We do love and appreciate your time and service of these 12 years.

We are also sorry that Bobby’s retirement was due to health issues. Our prayers are for the doctors to help Bobby with a new medicine. Bobby is a member of Dry Creek Baptist Church.

Kenny Edge is retiring after having been elected road supervisor of DeKalb County for six terms, or 24 years.

That alone tells us that he has done a super good job in maintaining the roads of DeKalb County. Thank you Kenny for this service not only to the Dry Creek valley but for the entire DeKalb County.

Kenny is a native of the Dry Creek valley, attended Dry Creek Elementary School, graduate of Liberty High School and Cumberland University in Lebanon.

He is the Sunday school teacher for the Adult men’s class and Chairman of the Deacons at Dry Creek Baptist Church.

Here’s wishing Kenny a long happy retirement. Your relatives love and appreciate you.
