It seems most everyone is seeking a healthier alternative in their daily diet repertoire. Tired of eating fast food, also considered fat food, it seems the search is ongoing for something still delicious yet more nutritious. Smithville has a new option that is not only very nutritional but also extremely tasty. Elevate Nutrition and Energy, located on the square downtown, is becoming the new favorite place to visit daily.
Owner Aaron Johnson who was previously a manager at Taco Bell in Woodbury said he began to notice a difference in his appearance.
“I noticed I was becoming thick,” Johnson said.
“I found this place in Woodbury called Southern Roots Nutrition,” he continued. “I got on the program, which is great. I saved up the money to open my own place.”
The “program” is with Herbalife nutrition and weight management products. When using the system, the plan calls for two shakes and two teas per day along with a healthy dinner. The shakes contain a plethora of nutrition. Made of nonfat milk and containing 18 grams of protein, 15 mg Vitamin C, Vitamin E, fiber, calcium and Vitamin A they only have 180 calories.
“The shakes tastes like melted ice cream,” Johnson added.
Looking over the menu, it is hard to choose just one. Just a very few of the choices include peanut butter cheesecake, cinnamon toast crunch, banana nut bread, birthday cake, Reese’s peanut butter cup, brownie batter, caramel macchiato, wedding cake, pecan pie, cookies and cream, white chocolate Snickers, blueberry muffin, banana caramel, red velvet, chunky monkey, Butterfinger, cookie dough and unbelievably many more. Is your mouth watering yet?
“Everyone’s favorite seems to be the mocha frappe,” Johnson said. “It has a little boost of caffeine in it, and everyone loves, loves it.”
Extras, or enhancers, are also available to be included in your frothy smoothie, including extra fiber, probiotic, fat burner, collagen, and protein and energy booster. There is also a post work out shake packed full of 21 vitamins and minerals, why, protein, BCAAS, Glutamine and Casein.
For a pick me up or just a refreshing treat, there are several types of energy drinks to choose from. Each of the drinks include a Herbalife tea and aloe, in mouthwatering flavors.
“The energy drinks are packed full of B12 vitamins, contain zero sugar, are only 10-15 calories each but actually burn 100 calories because it’s thermogenic,” Johnson explained.
A few of the energy drink selections include Russian Twist, Raz-Ma-Taz, Lightning, Tropical Paradise, Morning Glory, Very Berry, and Cranberry Limeade. Premium drinks include Pink Starburst, Tea Bomb, Beauty & the Beast, and the Titan. The juice bar also offers protein iced coffees.
And what kind of great juice bar would skip offering delicious fall flavors just as October has made its way in? For a limited time be sure to try out the seasonal flavors that range from pumpkin cheesecake to peanut butter pumpkin cookie and many more.
Elevate Nutrition and Energy is open Monday through Saturday from 6 a.m. until 4 p.m. and is located in the previous F.Z. Webb & Son’s Pharmacy building downtown Smithville. Whether you have just enough time to stop in and grab something to go, or you and a friend would prefer sitting at the café tables to enjoy a healthy mixture and conversation, the choice is yours.
