Enjoyed a lovely visit
carolgunter

Friends Glenn and Levonia (Ferrell) Gill paid me a visit on
Sunday evening.  Quite a treat for me since it had been a while since
I had talked with them.  They had stopped and visited with Melvin
Ferrell, also.  He was doing well.
Thought I would visit a restaurant that my sister, "Sepal" and I
went to pretty often when we were out together.  Of course, the outing
was different without her and all the fun we would have.  She would
expect me to go on and enjoy life to its fullest, because her spirit
would always be with me wherever I went.  She always said, "Life goes
on with or without us."  That statement, as we all know, is true that
have lost loved ones.  The hurt sure does linger with you missing that
person in your life.  Sepal was the strongest one of our family.  Hard
to figure out why I'm still around.  I love the Lord with all my heart
and want to serve Him always.  He's gotten me through some tough
trials that I thought couldn't be worked out.  Jesus saved my soul,
and I cannot praise and worship Him enough.  I sort of got off the
track about the restaurant.  My bill was $19.21.  Boy, I thought Carol
you are really out of touch with how much eating out can cost you
nowadays.  I'm thinking about those Ramen noodles in the pantry back
at the house and just how good they will be tasting in my future.
Needless to say, I'll not be back to that establishment anytime soon,
unless someone else is picking up the tab.  Coming back home and
feeling blue as I felt such an emptiness inside of me about Sepal.
Turned on the gospel station that I always listen to and they were
playing this song "I Just Stopped By On My Way Home."  Talk about an
up-lifting song?  It went on to say..."I can't stay here very long."
That was what I needed, because in reality, if we have accepted Jesus
Christ, then I guess we're just traveling through this world as
strangers and we won't be staying long, because heaven is our home so
I guess you could say we're homeward bound.
Let's keep the following people in our prayers:  Dustin Johnson,
Junior Melton, Mary Melton, Diane Evans, Rose Watts, Walter and Faye
Ferrell, the people of Israel and Ukraine and the leaders of our
country.
Birthdays for December to let you know about:  Wanda Byford 7th,
Joy Hullett 8th, Roman Reed 11th, Carol Gunter 13th, Paul Stanley 22nd
(my nephew), Mark Fults 25th.  Wedding anniversary December 21st for
Ray and Joann Braswell.  Congratulations to all of you.
Chatting with Betty Sue Hullett of Peru, Indiana this past
Tuesday evening and glad to report she's doing fine and, as always,
staying busy.  Quite a remarkable lady that is always thinking of
others and how she can help them.  Rick and Beverly Hubler have been
spending a few days in New Jersey visiting Rick's mom and other family
members.  Debbie Little, a friend of mine from the Lucky community,
stopped by last week.  She's a jewel.  So glad God put her in my life.
We all need friends in our lives, don't we?  They are there to give
us support when we need it.  Spotted Evelyn Underwood, a fellow church
member, at the grocery store on Tuesday.  We got to chat for a while
and catch up on the latest news.
Hope I can survive the cold spell coming our way on Thursday.
I've told you before that cold weather is not my cup of tea.  I get
all bundled up like an Eskimo and hibernate like the bears do.
May you and your family have a beautiful Thanksgiving and by all
means thank God for all the blessings He has given you and your loved
ones.
      Have a great day!
If thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt
believe in thine heart that God hath raised Him from the dead, thou
shalt be saved.  Romans 10:9
