Every country has its own problems

Oh, what a beautiful morning, this is in the Dry Creek Valley, on Aug. 8. Even with an overcast in the blue sky above, it is great to be alive and live in America.
Although we know that our country has many problems, we believe that every country has its own troubles, such as hunger, unemployment, unhealthy conditions, government problems, and political issues.
We believe in America and trust that everything will be better in the future.
We lived through the “Great Depression” and still think of what happened in most households. Then, World War II was a trying time, especially if you were trying to rear three small children and your husband was overseas.
We must remain positive and pray for God to bless America.
Mr. and Mrs. Jimmy Womack of Smithville visited Mrs. Louise Frazier, Friday.
Good to see some Smithville friends at Dry Creek Baptist Church Revival on Wednesday evening. Those in attendance were Lillie Vaughn, Mary Snow, and Michael Hale. Thanks for coming.
Ms. Jeanette France visited her doctor, Thursday, and he was pleased with her recovery from surgery. We are always happy to report when people are progressing from surgery or illness.
Recovery is slow and takes patience and therapy. Jeanette, we believe, is doing fine.
Our prayers, love and best wishes continue to be with this nice lady until she is fully recovered.

Sorry to report that our good friend and relative to many in the Dry Creek Valley, Mrs. Charles Elledge Davis of Dowelltown, is in the ICU unit at DeKalb Community Hospital in Smithville.  Our prayers are for God to watch over this Christian lady.

Dry Creek Baptist Church has just experienced a good old scriptural revival. It was Sunday though Wednesday evening.
Bro. Alton Scruggs brought some powerful biblical messages to all who attended, and the church auditorium was filled each night. Singing the old church hymns were the singers from Cumberland Baptist Church of Beersheba Springs.
These singers played a variety of instruments, including the violin, two guitars, the harmonica, and the piano. All of them were good musicians and singers.
People were revived with the old country church singing and blessed by the wonderful messages preached by Bro. Scruggs.
If you didn’t attend, you missed a spiritual blessing.
Dry Creek Baptist Choir showed its talent singing a special each night, directed by Bro. Fred VanHook.
Special Labor Day Service at Dry Creek Baptist will be held Sept. 5, at 5 p.m.
Following the service, there will be fellowship, food and banana splits.
Everyone is welcome. See you in church. Bro. Donald Owens, pastor.
