Farmhouse Finds
Restaurant Review

Farmhouse Finds in Smithville is a charming blend of boutique shopping and a cozy deli experience, reminiscent of a bygone era. Owned by Tonya and Michael Hattaway, this establishment near Center Hill Lake has become a local favorite since its expansion in 2023.

The deli serves high-quality Boar’s Head meats and artisanal cheeses in made-to-order sandwiches crafted by Stephanie, the skilled sandwich maker.

During my recent visit, my lunch partner and I enjoyed the beautiful day, dining in their pavilion overlooking a large pasture, which provided a tranquil atmosphere.

I savored a Bacon Lettuce and Tomato sandwich on toasted sourdough bread, with fresh fried bacon pairing well with salt and peppered ripe tomatoes. I chose the creamy potato salad as my side, which had a hint of sweetness.

My lunch partner opted for the special of the day: Chicken Salad on Keto-friendly wheat bread, with a side of Italian rotini spiral pasta salad featuring a herb vinaigrette. He particularly enjoyed the chicken salad, which had just enough grapes and cranberries to add a refreshing taste without overpowering the savory chicken.

Although full, we couldn’t resist sharing a decadent piece of pineapple cake, a moist cake with velvety buttercream frosting. All cakes are made in-house by Tonya and are irresistible.

Blue Bell ice cream is available in generous scoops, crunchy cones, and creamy milkshakes, perfect for a sweet treat on a warm day.

Be sure to check out the vintage Coca-Cola cooler stocked with cold glass bottle sodas, including RC Cola, and the candy counter featuring Goo Goo clusters and scoopable candies.

Beyond food, Farmhouse Finds features vintage antiques, rustic furniture, charming home décor, and local artisanal goods, making it a must-visit for both shopping and dining enthusiasts.

As we left, we noticed several cars with out-of-state license plates, such as Wisconsin and Missouri. This is a great adventure for out-of-town guests looking to experience local flavor.

Whether you’re enjoying their dishes or browsing unique treasures, Farmhouse Finds embodies the warm, inviting spirit of Southern charm and hospitality.
