Fork in the Road - Patty's Restaurant
Mark Mygrant

Patty’s Restaurant is a quintessential Southern eatery, celebrated for its warm hospitality and delicious comfort food. Early risers often arrive at 4:30 AM to enjoy its renowned biscuits, lovingly prepared daily by Chef Diego. These biscuits are so popular that they sell out daily, making an early arrival essential.

During my recent visit, I savored the biscuits paired with their creamy pepper milk gravy—a truly heavenly combination. The flaky biscuits were perfectly complemented by the gravy. On another visit, my dining partner and I enjoyed the Egg White Western Omelet, which included fresh sautéed vegetables, Bone-In Country Ham, a Pancake, and Grits.

Originally owned by Patty, who relocated to Michigan, the restaurant is now managed and owned by Tasha and Louie Ramirez. They have successfully maintained the cozy atmosphere and traditional menu that patrons adore.

During my last visit, Louie was engaging with regular guests, even going so far as to carry a customer’s baby around the dining area.

Patty’s charm extends beyond its homestyle food; it serves as a vibrant community hub. The large round table at the front of the building is affectionately known as the “Liar’s Table.” This table fills up daily with locals who discuss local events and share a variety of stories, some of which are said to be truthful.

The walls are adorned with Little League sponsor plaques and local business ads, creating a nostalgic and inviting atmosphere. With its family-friendly environment, attentive service, and very reasonable prices, Patty’s is more than just a restaurant—it’s a welcoming gathering spot for everyone.

They are open seven days a week for breakfast and lunch.
