Helping at Nashville Mission

Dean Adcock takes a group from Whorton Springs Baptist Church on the first Thursday of each month to help serve lunch at the Nashville Rescue Mission.
The mission serves three meals per day 365 days a year. It does much more than just serve meals. It has a substance abuse recovery program that is free to anyone who needs help.
The substance abuse program lasts for seven months. In this program the participants must attend chapel service each day and do their share of work at the mission. Individuals that attend are taught skills to help them survive once they leave the mission, such as computer skills. People at the mission are also given the opportunity to receive their GED through the mission. These are only a few examples of help that people who enter the mission receive, there is much more offered.
This mission doesn’t receive any government funds, it is funded completely by donations. There are many ways that people can help support the mission. They can always use money, clothes, food, toilet items, your time, etc. You may go online to donate or volunteer, just google “NASHVILLE RESCUE MISSION.” Donations may be sent to Nashville Rescue Mission, 639 Lafayette St., Nashville, Tenn. 37203.
