I heard Ben Herman has been in the hospital. I hope he is better. We always liked to hear Ben on the radio.

Billie Simpson told me about the revival they are having. It is at the New Life Pentecostal Conection Center. They have had a good crowd with good preaching and several getting saved and Baptised. The weather has been pretty cool.

Betty Jo Cantrell went to see her eye doctor on Monday in Cookeville, her eye is not doing well.

I got a call from my dear friend Wernda Moss in Dickson. She sure is a blessing to me she told me she was called to Mission work 32 years ago and she has witnessed a lot of people and worked at places like the nursing home.

Stephanie Rackley and Billy Tiner were honored with a wedding shower in Murfreesboro, Sunday by Billy’s relatives. They got a lot of useful gifts. Stephanie’s will be having another wedding shower given by her family on October 26, at New Home Baptist Church. The couple will be married at New Home Baptist Church on November 22, at New Home Baptist Church.

I have been praying for Ben Herman since learning that he is really sick. Ben has always been nice to compliment and encourage me with writing the New Home News. Ben is also a great storyteller.

My grandchildren, Randy and Cindy Vaughn, always said that Mr. Ben was one of their favorite teachers because he made learning fun through storytelling.

Of course I have also enjoyed listening to Ben on WJLE. He and my son, Ralph, did live shows together many years ago at different events in Smithville. Later Ben started his own radio show on WJLE; a program that Chris Tramel, Reed Vanderpool and Steve Quick continued after Ben began getting sick.

Many people have told me that Ben was a great greeter at Walmart because he enjoyed talking and recalling local history.

So, I want to ask those reading this article to remember Ben Herman in your prayers.
