News from the mountain - it's almost Easter
carolgunter

Easter Sunday, April 20th, will be here shortly.  What a day to celebrate the return to life of Jesus Christ, the founder of Christianity, after His crucifixion.  Jesus' return to life is called the resurrection.  On the morning two days after Jesus' death His tomb was found empty.  Wasn't long before Jesus' followers saw Him and talked with Him.  Jesus' resurrection means we too, will receive new life after death.  Easter is the most important Christian festival of the year.  It is a day of celebration for Christians everywhere.

Getting to be a weekly passing away of someone we know and love here on the mountain.  Jack Parsley, age 79, passed away on Friday, April 4th after an extended illness.  He was Ruth Brown's brother and a Christian.  Jack lived in Georgia for many years.  Ya know I got to thinking how it is impossible for us to contemplate how glorious heaven is going to be.  Seeing Jesus will overwhelm us beyond anything we could have ever imagined and I'm envying Jack, because he is now experiencing the glories of heaven in the presence of Jesus, his Savior.  Nothing can top that.  Please keep the Parsley family in your prayers at this sad time.

More rain arrived here on Friday night.  We got 3.5 inches according to Russell Taylor.  Luckily, we were spared from most of the bad weather that had been predicted for us.  I had my mowing done on Saturday evening well before the heavy rain got here.  It's going to take a while for the lawns around to dry out.

At least ten people were killed in West Tennessee because of tornadoes that came through with that cold front.  Flooding in so many communities with homes and businesses being ruined.  Some being hit twice with this second round of flooding.  We need to keep those people in West Tennessee in our prayers.

Mai Nell Melton and Gracie Bratcher doing ok these days and I might add they have assured me they are being good.  Neighbors Rick and Beverly Hubler and Tony and Tracy Neal doing better these days, also.

Can't believe how quick tuna and crackers can evaporate, it seems, into thin air around my house.  Of course, that's because this girl loves that tuna so much, and as I have told you fish is good for you and yummy for the tummy."  Those tuna patties I sometimes whip up taste better when the can of tuna is in vegetable oil not water.  In my stash of tuna, I found 2 cans containing vegetable oil.  There is, too me, a definite difference in the taste.  Either way you cook them up I do believe you will love them, and the tuna is far cheaper than salmon.

We have some people that are in need of prayer:  Dusty Johnson, Mary Melton, Diane Evans, Rose Watts, Joe Gunter, Sherry Gannon, Walter and Faye Ferrell, the people of Israel and Ukraine, the leaders of our country, the families of George Pitts, Dorris Ferrell, and Jack Parsley in the loss of their dear loved ones.

Burley Bogle has been under the weather for several days but is now feeling better and think he's going to make it after all.  We're all happy he's recovering from being sick and back on his feet.

We're starting the different winters that we go through each spring season.  Right now, it's dogwood winter.  We've already had redbud winter.  We've got locust, blackberry and stump winter waiting in the wings to come our way before long.

Have a great day and Happy Easter!

Today shalt thou be with me in paradise.  Luke 23:43
